Winston Chmielinski is a New York-based painter whose work has garnered him international recognition as an emerging talent. Challenging our understanding of portraiture, Winston presents the human figure as a landscape of on which the peaks and valleys of the individual are revealed. Bold impasto brush strokes offer the viewer a “fleeting glimpse of the unsheathed self,” reflecting the thoughtful worldliness of an artist-observer who has lived and worked in New York, Paris and Berlin.

Winston has been exhibited at the Corcoran Gallery in Washington, DC; the Sommerwende Festival in Berlin; as well as in private spaces and commercial galleries in Paris, New York and Miami.
