#WorkofArt @Bravo

Last night was the premier of BRAVO’s newest reality competition series, Work of Art: The Next Great Artist. Obviously the premise is at once ridiculous and timely, and like any good artistic concept has been igniting a wave of impassioned positive and negative feedback from the masses. It’s completely intriguing that art world insiders such as Simon de Pury and Jeanne Greenberg Rohatyn are participating; obviously there is something here to consider, but we’re certainly not ruling out the possibility that we’ll wind up considering it more shit than not. Even without having seen the show, the buzz is hard to miss. Proving that it is the perfect tool to monitor real-time popular interest in current events, Twitter manifested a flutter of tweets, retweets, pretweets (whatever they are…) on the subject. Our favorite art world insider Kianga Ellis was right on top of the commotion and is sure to digest the hoopla into a seriously insightful bundle of information. We can’t wait to hear her thoughts… In the meantime, we’re wondering if Andy Cohen collects…
