We’re delighted to have been asked to be a founding member of the Guild Hall Contemporaries, the newly-launched young patrons group for this established East Hampton cultural institution. This summer, Guild Hall will boast an exhibition of new work by Richard Prince which showcases the artist’s deftness at image appropriation, specifically of a series of images of fellow South Fork native Jackson Pollock at work. It’s always fascinating to observe one artist turning his creative eye to the creations of his predecessors, especially when exhibited in a region that has had tremendous influence over both artists’ work – the Hamptons. We’re thrilled to be acting as an ambassador to the young creative and collecting community, and encourage those in the area to spend some time at Guild Hall this summer to re-discover the significant hand it’s had in the native arts community.
