I WANT YOU!

Thank you to the New Unleashed Art Pavilion’s Kianga Ellis for choosing to exclusively profile Blaise & Co. Contemporary Art during the I WANT YOU promotional and buying event, running for one week on July 5th! Check out their official announcement, also on http://kiangaellis.wordpress.com/2010/06/29/setting-the-art-world-ablaise/

Meet Blaise Niosi. She is the founder of Blaise & Co. Contemporary Art, a new-model curatorial initiative catering to both creators and connoisseurs of Contemporary Art. I’m adding her to my AAA list (Avail Art Aces), which so far also includes Yayoi Shionoiri, Laurence Lafforgue and Sarah Lewis.

You can see from her picture that she is lovely, but I also want to tell you that she is lovely! Prior to founding her company earlier this year, Blaise worked at Sotheby’s: Art Auction House, Private Sales and Art-Related Financing. Her responsibilities included top-secret research projects, so this lady really knows about the whos and the whats and the how much of the contemporary art world. Naturally I have a soft spot for people who quit jobs to launch out into the entrepreneurial deep. Even more so in the art world where the existing business models are under extreme pressure. But Blaise has a strategy that I’m confident will work and that only someone like her (not so many like her) could hope to pull off. She is leveraging her own exceptional taste * Peggy Guggenheim-style * to promote talented artists in creative ways.

On July 5th, I will be launching the first of monthly in-depth profiles of important figures in what I’m calling the NEW art movement. Blaise herself writes a terrific description of the project, I Want You, on her blog, The Blaise & Co. Bulletin. I invite you to experience the Blaise Art World with me next week and take advantage of special buying opportunities.
